Santorini is a beautiful island with many interesting things to do and see. If you are visiting Santorini for a few hours or even a few days and you are not comfortable renting a car, then a private tour is the best choice for you. You get to see all the interesting sites quickly and comfortably.
On my recent visit to Santorini with my best friend, we decided to do a half-day private tour with Dandelion Tours. It wasn’t my first time on the island, but it was the first time for my friend, so we wanted to see the main attractions and something off the beaten path.
Our driver Vasilis picked us up from our hotel in Oia in a luxurious minivan. As we had already seen a big part of Oia ourselves, we headed to picturesque Ammoudi bay famous for its fish tavernas. After a short stop, we visited the villages of Imerovigli and Firostefani for a walk and photos. Both villages have white-washed houses, churches with blue domes and enjoy incredible views of the caldera and the volcano.

Our next stop was Akrotiri village, famous for the archaeological site and the Red Beach.
We then headed to Perivolos beach with the black volcanic sand, a trendy place full of seaside restaurants and bars. Our road then took us to Perissa beach another lively seaside village.

As it was getting dark, we headed to the highest peak of Santorini the mountain of Prophet Elias with the homonym monastery. The views from up there are incredible as you can see the whole island. It is a beautiful place to see the sunset as well but as it was quite cloudy that day we weren’t very lucky with that.
Our tour finished where it started at our hotel in Oia.

We really enjoyed our custom-made tour of Santorini with Vasilis. During our tour, he told us a lot of useful information about the island. He helped us plan the rest of our time in Santorini and recommended some great restaurants and bars, which we visited the next day. He is very polite and professional and made our time in Santorini truly enjoyable.
I totally recommend Dandelion tours if you want to explore the island of Santorini.
