Staying in a Manor House in Paxos Island, Greece

Paxos! What a breath of fresh air this little island was! The Ionian sea has to offer a full set of all different colors to the Greek palette, and it’s worth your attention next time you plan to go on holiday.

While there I tasted great local food that was of great quality, got to visit the little picturesque villages and ports full of fishermen`s boats with all kinds of Greek Names that can make for a beautiful photo album, and got the rare opportunity to be hosted in a different place each night.

Check out the best things to do in Paxos, Greece.

One of those places was Villa Mara, owned by Stemar Luxury Villas in Paxos, which was something way more than its name implies. One hears “Villa …something” and thinks of the typical modernized accommodation unit that more or less offers the same feeling wherever in the world it might be. Villa Mara is different. We’re talking about the whole first floor of a traditional Manor House in the Ionian Islands architecture that was actually built in the 1860’s!

I don’t want to make a list of the facilities, cause that is not the point. Be sure in any case to expect 3 bedrooms , 3 bathrooms, a dining room and a kitchen with most of the things you will need for your vacation, from kitchen to bathrobes and sleepers in the closets , but the point is the feeling of waking up in the morning to the most stunning of views, and the walk in the gardens that somehow gives you the sensation that maybe you have somehow time-travelled in an era and a place that maybe the Durrell’s could have chosen had they visited this island!!!

Since my good friend Michalis was in Paxos, and he will be representing the owners of the properties, for the upcoming season, I got the royal treatment when it gets to seeing around the whole property! The Manor House also has a ground floor, named Villa Konstantina, in the same mentality as the upper floor, to be rented as a separate unit, there are two one-bedroom pretty cute and affordable little apartments next to the Manor house.

If one seeks something more modern and luxurious, there are also 3 newly built stonework villas named after 3 of the Greek Muses, Erato, Kleio and Thalia, each with a private pool, all built around the term ” luxurious comfort ” and with “modern” always in mind.

The view from the villas

A huge plus to all that, the perfect location…right outside Loggos, 2 minutes on foot from the center of the village, and 2 minutes on foot on the other side to the beautiful beach of Levrechio. So with no hesitation, I totally recommend Stemar Villas if you find yourself traveling to Paxos. It’s certain you will find there something to suit your holiday’s needs.

  1. I love Paxos! When I was younger, my family used to holiday there every other year. I have many fond childhood memories of Greek salads, quiet pebble beaches, olive trees and lovely music 🙂 I’m glad you enjoyed it too.
